A section of the club focusing on the future
Our Youth Squad is aimed at sailors from the age of 7 up to 18 year olds.
These sessions are free for all youth members of the club and will cater for all ability ranges.
We meet once a month at the club dates for 2024 are listed below.
What we want to achieve is to promote the social and physical benefits of sailing in all our young members and their families. To do this, the emphasis is on safe, fun activities which encourage social interaction as well as improving sailing skills.
Coaching can be provided for youth sailors as well to progress their sailing so that they can compete at regional / national events and will be supported by the club.

RYA Regional Junior Champs
The British Youth Sailing (BYS) Regional Junior Championships will take place at venues across England and the Home Countries this June. The regional regattas encourage juniors (under 16s) of all skill levels to participate in an action-packed and fun weekend on the water.
North East & Yorkshire Youth Sailing Association Travellers
The objective is to promote competitive racing events, friendship, quality sailing skills and personal growth. The series offers opportunity to young sailors in the region in all classes to sail against their peers on a handicap basis.
All are welcome and the series view is that the peer support offered by this series out on the water and on-shore is invaluable and represents and celebrates the essence of our sport.
