If you are a complete novice or an advanced sailor, come down to the club and see what Ulley has to offer. We offer pleasure sailing during all of our operating hours. Our typical racing days are Wednesday evenings and all day Sunday. Saturdays are usually reserved for training, open events and pleasure sailing. If you are interested in seeing what we are up to use the contact page to get in touch or call in and visit us.
As an RYA Training Centre, Ulley Sailing Club offers everybody the chance to have a go at sailing.
Whether you’re a member of the public or a member of the Club there are different ways that you can get involved.
If you’re unsure whether sailing is for you, you may wish to book onto one of our half-day “Sailing Experience” sessions. You will be introduced to sailing by one of our experienced, competent members who will run through the basics and take you for a sail. You may even get to take the helm yourself and be able to sail a simple course by the end of the session.
We also offer RYA Level 1 and 2 courses to club members at very competitive prices.
Further information and booking details can be obtained by clicking on the links below.
Why become a member of Ulley Sailing Club?
We are 100% volunteer run, keeping costs down and making for a great “team” atmosphere. We offer affordable training for all members, fun casual sailing as well as racing, plus multiple social events throughout the year. We have club boats for hire or bring your own (on-site secure boat storage available). We like to take part in sailing events such as WLYC 24hr Race, Filey Regatta and other events and trips.
Members under 20yrs old are encouraged to attend our Youth Squad fun training sessions. These sessions are held one Saturday afternoon each month throughout our main season. Rain or shine, wind or no wind our youth members get together, have some fun and improve their sailing with support from our qualified RYA instructors and other experienced members.
Members have access to club boats at minimal cost. These boats include Lasers, RS Qubas, RS Teras, RS Visions, Enterprises, a Hansa access boat and more.
What People Say
Excellent affordable and patient training for absolute beginners such as myself with great rescue boat cover that I’ve been very grateful for! Also very easy going and welcoming folk at the club!Jason
A great club, run entirely by its members as volunteers, in a beautiful setting, accessible by public or private transport. Really affordable – you can sail for a year at less than the price of a family day out at a theme park and welcomes people of all ages, backgrounds, abilities and disabilities.Rosalie
